No specific reason for the delay was given so it appears developer Dambuster Studios simply needed more time, though it said it understands the irony in delaying Dead Island 2 again. Announced on the Dead Island Twitter (below), the delay from February 3 at least only marks a 12 week delay compared to the several years it's been since Dead Island 2's initial release window of spring 2015.
